I started writing and planning for this album in March 2021. I wanted to make an album of ALL NEW MATERIAL. I hadn't written & recorded a BRAND NEW song since 2014.
The EAR album was mostly new recordings of older songs. Some even were older recordings. RAYDIOACTOR was all old archives. Even DARK SHELTERS was an older song that began in 1976.
I counted up my archives found I have about 175 songs in some form. I probably could pull from these for the next 25 years. And I probably will.
Being no one is really familiar with most of what I've done.
Well,
As I started into this project, ideas started flowing pretty rapidly. Surprisingly so, as I had been in a complete composing dry spell for quite awhile. I had about 6 song ideas within a week. When it came to putting them all together, a couple songs sorta overwhelmed the other seeds of ideas. So, I'm still writing NEW songs as this release goes public.
Plenty of situations, projects, & time issues kept getting in the way of getting any further than 2 initial songs, LEVIATHAN & DINOSAURS.
I had Dinosaurs close to ready & had finished a sloppy, ugly version of Leviathan.
THEN MY HARD DRIVE "EXPLODED"..... Nothing was recoverable.
I took a LONG break........
I started back into it around September 2023. Some new ideas were piling up & fortunately the drive to accomplish kicked in HARD.
Whatever this is that I ended up with dry humps my mind
